美国人口学会年度会议（Population Association of America，简称PAA）于2017年4月底0在美国芝加哥召开。上海大学社会学院人口研究所暨亚洲人口研究中心主任蒋耒文教授，Samir KC教授，Guy Abel教授、 博士后陈晨受邀参加了会议。
美国人口学会是国际著名的人口学专业组织，其每年一次的人口学年会被认为是人口学界最高级别的学术会议之一，参会论文都会经过严格的学术筛选。每年的人口学年度会议不仅荟萃世界顶级人口学领域的专家学者，也是人口学领域最新研究成果展示的重要平台。年会不仅囊括了一年来全球人口学领域的精华成果，同时与会论文所所带来的庞大信息量也是堪称世界人口学之最。此次年会共设252个分论坛，11个海报展示区，亚洲人口研究中心多篇文章及海报被年会接收。
蒋耒文教授在第11号海报展区展示海报"Urbanization, Climate Change, and Vegetation Coverage in China"；此外，蒋耒文教授以共同作者但非报告人向年会投稿的"A Spatial Method for Estimating Rural-Urban Population Reclassification"被第188论坛接收，报告人为美国国家大气研究中心科学家Bryan Jones教授。
Samir KC教授在第154分论坛上报告"Meeting the Sustainable Development Goals Leads to Lower World Population Growth"；此外，Samir KC、Guy Abel教授以共同作者但非报告人向年会投稿的"Bayesian Reconstruction of Multistate Populations"被第6分论坛接收，论文报告人为维特根斯坦中心的Dilek Yildiz博士；论文"Intergenerational Transmission of Attitudes Toward Migration as a Potential Antagonist of the Demographic Metabolism"被第111论坛接收，报告人为维特根斯坦中心的Erich Striessnig博士。论文"Challenges to Meeting the SDG Targets of Universal Upper Secondary Education in China"被第154论坛接收，论坛报告人为社会学院研三学生吴颖机。
Guy Abel教授在第142分论坛上发表报告 "Who Is Moving?
